Adding Taxes or Fees

To set taxes or fees up in an offering...

1.  Go to SETUP and select Taxes and Fees under Tools for Offerings
2.  Click "Add New", then click the little down arrow at the right of the new tax/fee and select Edit
3. - Name: An internal name you want to use to reference this option. 
   - Description: what is the name of the tax or fee you are entering that you want to show up on invoices?
   - Enter a percentage OR a flat rate
   - If you'd like the tax or fee to be optional (on the BACK END ONLY), check the "optional" box
   Keep in mind the default will always be to include the tax/fee. You can exclude it on the back end by entering the reservation's Payment Summary after it has been created (See final screenshot below)
   - If the tax or fee is per guest for activities or per night for lodging, check the "per item" box. If it is per activity or per room, leave the box unchecked
   - Is the tax or fee a taxable item (flat fees only)? If yes, check the box "is taxable?" If no, leave the box unchecked
4. Note- If you were using Flybook prior to the 8/4/2020 release of this feature, all of your taxes and fees were imported with the name being the combination of the offering name and the previous tax/fee name and the tax/fee name stayed as the description
5. Hit SAVE when finished
6. Navigate to the setup for any offering (except products, these get their own tax assigned), select Taxes/Fees and then add the applicable tax or fee from the drop down menu
7. If you wish to EXCLUDE an optional tax or fee for a reservation, you can do this from the Payments tab in the reservation (see screen shot at the bottom of this page) by clicking the red minute sign next to "Including Optional Fees" and it will then change to saying "Exclusing Optional fees" and have a green plus sign next to that you would click if you wanted to add those optional fees back on to the reservation.
