Note:The ONLY area that you will configure your online display is in Set up >> Web Integration >> Front End Set-up. all other tabs here can be ignored. And, descriptions and photos within activity set up are unnecessary.
Here's how it works. A brief video as well as step by step instructions below.
Flybook Web Integration Set up from Megan Langer on Vimeo.
To find the new tool, go to: Set up >> Web Integration (under Front End/Web/API)
1) CREATE YOUR GENERAL SETTINGS
Here you can modify payment/checkout settings, upload your logo, add extra upsells, use Google Tag Manager (more HERE) and change the color scheme for your online booking tool. You can also put your cancellation policy in here that clients will have to agree to prior to checking out (note- this is a general policy for all bookings and so we recommend it is concise and applies to all offerings)
2) CREATE YOUR CATEGORIES
Here you are creating the categories that your customers are able to search through and filter your offerings. You can have parent categories and sub categories. For example, summer and winter. Or maybe your categories are: "Tours" "Packages" "Lodging" and "Gifts". It's designed for complete flexibility so you can make this work for your business.
3) CREATE AND CUSTOMIZE YOUR OFFERINGS
Here you are configuring what is displayed in each category as well as the description and images associated to it. When you select, "add new", you'll determine what entity from your set up (i.e. which activity, ticket, lodge, package) and enter the title that should be displayed. Use the checkboxes at bottom to associate your activity to a category in the display. If you leave this blank, it will not associate with list view (TIP: this would be a great way to offer a special event to just a targeted audience - you can hide it from the rest of your view)
*NOTE- The name you give a new offering is what will appear in your online booking tool, although you can edit this in the next step.
Pull in the "Entity Type" (the configuration you have made in your Setup), click the boxes next to the categories within which you want the offering to be displayed, then enter the description, a short description and other information you'd like displayed. these are NOT MANDATORY. We offer many options, but you decide what makes sense to display. Photos can be uploaded to enhance the look and feel, but if you leave them out, the display will look and work just great.
Specifics like Base Cost and Duration are visuals only! To make changes to these, go back tot he configurations in Setup.
For photos:
The "banner" image is wide screen format and displays HERE:
The "list view banner" is square format and shows HERE:
Additional Settings for Offerings- You can modify the button text for each offering as it will be seen within the Flybook online booking tool, require confirmation prior to being able to book, or change an offering from being book-able to a simple contact form (great to use in the off-season!).
4) GENERATE CODE TO EMBED BUTTONS ONLINE (and preview your set up!)
A few options here. You can generate book now buttons that will:
- Go directly to a single offering (using generate individual drop down)
- Go to the "list view" and drop into the first category
- Go to a specific category within your list view i.e. "packages"
You can also customize the color of your book now button, as well as the words within it (purchase now, buy now...etc). This will be the button on your website that customers will click to be able to book.
To preview, select from either drop down (to open to a specific category, select it first on the left, then click "Generate All/List View") and below the code you'll see "preview widget" (highlighted in the screenshot below). Be sure NOT to use the URL that opens open when clicking the preview button for real bookings. If you need to use a URL click the little gray button that says Use URL and copy the green short URL in the black box.
