Available to accounts on Fullsteam/Flybook Pay processing only!
- You can pre-authorize purchases/charges through the “Authorization” feature using the Fullsteam-specified EMV terminals. This would be common for clients looking to place a "hold" on a card for things like incidentals, possible damages, etc. Email advisors@theflybook.com to have this feature turned on at no additional cost.
- If you haven't already hooked up your EMV terminals, first - you’ll add your EMV terminal in Fullsteam MerchantTrack. Do so by going to merchanttrack.fullsteampay.net > Terminals > Activate Terminals.
Be sure to fill out the activation code and give your terminal(s) a description you will remember. The name can be changed at a later date if needed. - Next, you'll confirm you can see this terminal(s) in Flybook - with its description and matching serial number. To see this, go to Setup > Fullsteam Utilities > Terminals.
- Now that you have linked your EMV terminal, you are ready to create the pre-authorization itself. Do so by going to Tools > Authorizations > Create.
- Enter a name, amount, and description, and then "Create Authorization".
-
Designate the correct terminal based on the name and serial (under Auth Code).
Don't forget to click "Authorize" to send it to the EMV.
- When it arrives at the EMV, insert the card. Once approved, the "Auth Code" area in Flybook (see image above) will be replaced with TWO options - CAPTURE or RELEASE.
- If you need to charge for damages, etc. - select Capture. If you want to let go of the hold - Release.
Note: pre-authorized holds will automatically release after 10 days.
