Navigation: Tools>>Promotions
Important Note: This is the second step in creating a usable promotion code if you have not already done so you will need to create a promo configuration as seen in Step 1. In this step, you'll create the actual code your customers will use to receive their discount and you will define how many times a code can be used, what to call it and under what conditions it is valid.
If you would like to create promotion codes follow the steps below.
- Go to Tools then select Promotions from the drop-down menu.
- From the Actions, drop-down select Add New
- On this next page, you'll create the actual code and set the parameters for it. Make sure you select your promo config and the total number of uses you want available for this code (For activities the # of uses would be per guest, ie 3 guests going would need to have 3 uses. For rentals and tickets, 2 uses would cover 2 rentals or 2 tickets). All other fields are optional but are explained below the screenshot.
- Max FE Uses Per Cart - This limits how many times the code can be applied in a single reservation
- Inactive - This will make the promo code no longer usable but will not remove it from reservations it's already been applied to
- Cannot be combined with any other Promo - This will prevent other codes from applying to the same item in the cart, but it will not prevent multiple codes from being applied to the same cart
- Remaining Value Of Items is Covered by "External" Payment Record - In cases where the promo code was purchased by the customer from outside The Flybook this feature will account for that cost be creating a payment record for the remaining balance of the invoice item it was applied to. Using this feature disables deposit cost calculations. It is recommended that you contact Flybook Advisory (advisors@theflybook.com) directly before using this feature
- Generate Individual Promotions - This will use the Code Name plus 6 random letters/numbers and create a 1 use promotion for each you can go in after creation and modify parameters of these codes. So for example, if you want to create 100 single-use promo codes that all start with the same few characters, you'd enter those few characters as the code name and enter 100 in as the number of uses.
- Use "Event" Date Range - This will restrict the use of this code to events that take place during the given date range, regardless of when the reservation was actually booked.
- Use "Apply-able" Date Range - This will restrict the use of this code to reservations booked during the given date range, regardless of when the events within the reservation will take place.
- Use Event Time Windows - This will restrict the use of code to events that take place during certain hours of the day (ex. mornings only, evenings only, etc)
- Days of Week - This will restrict the use of the code to events that take place on certain days.
- Allow Front End Application Of Promo - This allows the code to be applied on a front end during checkout
- Using Expiration - This allows you to set an apply-able expiration date for the promo code. If you want a promo code to expire at the end of January, you'll want to set the expiration date to February 1st because the promo code will expire the second it becomes February 1st. If you set the expiration date to January 31st, the code wouldn't be able to be used on January 31st. You can also set a value for the code after expiration.
- Blackout Configuration
- Always remember to click Create to save your new promo code(s).
